One of the best things about your writing - you - is that you say it like it is. I adore your matter-of-factness, Ann! And what about co-living situations as we women age? Most of us who have male partners (and mine was a late one) will end up on our own anyway, as they tend to predecease us. I think some of the young binaries (they, them) have something going, to not have to make a choice!
When I was little, my family had dogs. Once I became an adult, I fell in love with cats. Sylvia is perfect. I hope she loves sharing a glass or two of wine with you. I could see a book of all of this, but I can also see you turning to short stories. I'm not sure how, but writing them fits people who love cats. I'm sure if you ask Sylvia will help you write them.
Ann, your writing is a hoot and so enjoyable, it has made me laugh in these desperate times. I only hope there is a man out there that will find you and love your humor.
I’ve really enjoyed this series, and it has a very familiar story line. My mother was of the same mind as yours regarding marriage. I got divorced at 27 with two babies and never remarried. I had numerous relationships and encounters, the good, the bad and the ugly! I’m fine with being alone at 74.
Don’t stop, Ann! I know one of the most impossible problems of a writer is having something to write about, so I don’t envy you, but I sure enjoy whatever you write! Keep it up, somehow.
Ann, your Rotten Romance stories have been a lot of fun the read! The oddball characters and details create an interesting and genuine texture with a unique voice.
I have totally enjoyed your life and adventures. I can totally relate. I hope you will continue. Gloria Vanderbilt, married 4 times, said in her memoir of life and loves, your life can change in a minute.

Ann , Alone does not mean lonely. Whose company do we enjoy the most? Our own of course!
Your writings about romance show tremendous courage. Probably more than most married folks.
IF ONLYS are deadly for me and I am allergic to cats.

I will also miss Rotten Romance -- I relate to all the stories!
I will miss reading these installments. (I’ve had 2 cats that looked very much like Sylvia.)
-wonderful--all of it has been a pleasure to read.

I love reading Rotten Romance each week. There's always a flavor of optimism, hopefulness and of course humor that comes through in your writing.
Thank you Ann! Yes keep writing! Wish you much happiness and blessings!

Just love the way you express yourself and dare to be who you are. I bet plenty of women relate to you. I certainly do.
Ive so enjoyed reading these pieces, Ann. You’ve opened yourself up so generously and we can relate.
