Ann, You write so beautifully on grief. No stranger to it (I even wrote a book on it, as you know). Few of us, if any, are exempt from grief, but we move forward with that loss a part of us. Sending you love, Jonathan

Grief is real, there are no words to heal. Take time to remember those good memories, they will make you smile.

Ann dearest—Your silence says it all, eloquently. And of course Auden says it best in Musee des Beaux Arts. You’ve got so many people who love you, and Kitty is one of them.

Dear Ann, I do understand your grief. My former and only husband Elias died last July, and it was a big thump and a prolonged grieving. We divorced 40 years ago. But what matters is that I once loved him and my grief enhanced this love. Love is. There is no desirable outcome. I feel blessed to have loved and I still feel the love for my many departed loved ones and reliving that love enriches me. Take your time and take care.

Yes. I totally get it. I mentioned I accidentally discovered an old beau also died unnecessarily recently and there are times when I'm hiking etc when I start to cry thinking of the hiking, trips we took. And now a mutual ( to the friend who died)best friend of mine has cancer and is ready to call it quits--it's really too much.

Take care of yourself.

Oh, Ann, take whatever time you need. I have been married twice and would feel sucker punched if either of them died.
